"Wars of the World" Concert: Menlo Park Chorus, Silicon Valley Symphony, professional soloists: Soprano, Brett Rouna; Alto, Alma De Lon; Tenor, Codrut Bisan; and Bass, Roger McCracken, Conducted by Michael Paul Gibson present "Mass in Time of War" by Joseph Haydn and Beethoven's Symphony No. 3 in E-flat Major, "Eroica" in the Sanctuary at 7:30 p.m.; sponsored in part by PCLG Humanities & Arts. Tom Hazleton, a Southern California church and concert organist, presented a recital in our sanctuary on Nov. 9, 2003. The recital drew a large audience from our parish and from throughout the bay area. Mr. Hazleton concertizes extensively all over the world as a classical and theatre organist. In his teen-age years, he practiced frequently on PCLG's instrument, and was pleased to be asked to return to play here again.
Rev. John Bell from Scotland's Iona Community conducted a weekend workshop at PCLG on November 9th and 10th, 2002. The richness and depths of John Bell's music and presence was a powerful event for parishioners, church musicians, and pastors from all over the Bay Area. |
Humanities & Arts Mission Project with pastor Mark Burnham coordinating. PCLG hosted orphaned children, brought from Russia to the Bay Area by Happy Families International. Along with a freewill offering, the H & A
Endowment paid the children for a beautiful concert
of traditional Russian music. Held after worship
in the social hall, the concert drew over two hundred
people.
Ann Martin Rowland coordinated the framing of original artwork created by the children of PCLG, assisted by Liz Dailey. Visit the hall between the church offices and conference room to view this vibrant exhibition!
