Children's Ministries News
Dear PCLG families,
We hope you are all enjoying a summertime change of pace. Summer is a wonderful season to experience the wonder of God’s gifts all around us. Get lost in a good book, explore the life of bugs and butterflies up close, feel the delicious coolness of a stream on your bare toes. While you’re at it, think about how God is in everything and give thanks!
RAINFOREST

Coming July 21 – 24: Vacation Bible School.
We’re planning special rainforest-theme games and activities, plus some cool Bible stories. It’s a great midsummer activity for your children!

Children In Church
Elementary age June 15 through August 31
During the summer we encourage all school-age children and their parents to attend a family-friendly service in the sanctuary. In fact, don’t just attend – participate! Volunteer to read the Bible passage, play special music, greet worshippers at the door, or hand out bulletins. Share your gifts with others this summer. (For information on whom to contact for these activities, see last month’s Spire or call the church office.)
Teachers

Preschool age June 1 through August 31
We offer a class for children ages 3 through 6 every week in Cherub Corner. The lesson plan is simple and all materials are provided: a story, an easy game, a little art, a snack and then playground fun.

Preschool Teachers
Two preschool teachers are needed for the Sundays in August. A simple lesson plan and all materials are provided. To sign up, please call Chris or Martha.

Teachers for the new year
Homecoming Sunday, the start of a new year in God’s Place,
is coming up September 7. As you think about where your gifts might fit in this ministry, please note we will have a teachers’ planning meeting
Sunday, August 24, at 11:15 a.m. in room 8. All new preschool teachers, kindergarten teachers and guides should plan to attend. Childcare will be available.

VBS Summer Mission: Adopt-a-Rainforest
Through July, VBS is raising funds for rainforest rehabilitation. Purchase a prayer palm to hang in the rainforest and/or bring in your plastic bottles and aluminum cans. Look for the recycling bins around the campus.
