Covenant Groups are a way of getting connected, to God and to
people. They are a place for learning and growing in God's ways
through trusted fellowship and Bible related group discussion.
The Covenant Groups are always open to those who want to take part.
It is a weekly commitment, and one that you will not regret making. Read
one covenant group member's thoughts on the blessings of a
covenant group.

The Blessings of a Covenant Group
For
over a year now, I have been experiencing the blessings of a covenant
group. I can honestly say it is probably the best thing I have
done here since I joined the church 20 years ago. In my opinion,
covenant groups are VITAL to the health of the church!
Why are covenant groups important? God created us to need one
another. In the creation story in Genesis, God declared everything
he made good, with one exception. It was NOT good that man should
be alone, so God created a companion for him known as a woman.
The Bible is all about relationships. What were the relationships
like in the early church? The early Christians not only worshipped
together, they also shared their lives with one another and prayed
together. The apostle Paul talks about receiving encouragement
from the church at Corinth—he didn't just give it. Jesus
Christ did not do his work alone, but had 12 disciples close to
him during his ministry.
Unfortunately, some of us may only experience surface encounters
with people at church. Is this you?
How many of you discuss the Bible and deep spiritual matters with
others on a regular basis?? Are your relationships with others
enabling you to grow in your faith? (This is a KEY QUESTION.) Do
you have people you can readily turn to for prayer, and know your
prayer will be kept strictly confidential? These are just some
of the blessings of being part of a covenant group.
I hope many of you will decide to discover for yourselves what
blessings God has in store for you through this small group ministry.
In a covenant group, you will be blessed, but you will also BE
a blessing to others.
