Meet Joseph Acheapong

This summer, we are excited to welcome Rev. Dr. Joseph Acheampong who is a visiting minister from the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (in West Africa).  He will be staying in our area for 3 weeks, preaching, teaching, and sharing with us.

Joseph graduated with a Masters in Theology (Th.M) from Princeton Theological Seminary, where he was a classmate of Pastor Dave’s. He then went on to complete a PhD in the Philosophy of Theology at the University of Hamburg.

Joseph currently serves as the Protestant Chaplain at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana.  He is married and has 3 children (ages 15, 7, and 3).

On Sunday, July 29th, Joseph will preach at PCLG and will present a program after worship on that day.  We will share lunch together and hear more from him about life in Ghana, the church and ministry there, and to ask questions and hear his impressions of Silicon Valley.  This is his first trip to California and he is very excited to come!

If you are interested in hosting Joseph for a meal with your family or friends, or to go on an excursion together of some kind, please contact Pastor Dave.  Joseph will also be visiting other churches in our Presbytery, so his schedule is still developing.
