This non-denominational Christian organization provides hot meals, safe shelter, showers, and clean clothing to the area’s homeless population.
CityTeam also provides a home for pregnant young mothers and long-term residential services for those suffering from drug abuse and alcoholism to rehabilitate themselves. CityTeam’s Rescue Mission provides temporary shelter, coming alongside needy people and helping them rebuild their lives. We have chosen this year to concentrate our giving on the Family & Youth Outreach Services. They help meet the critical needs of community members living below the poverty line by providing them with the resources they need to overcome the hardships they are facing, breaking the cycle of poverty. They provide after-school and youth leadership programs, guidance and weekly support to thousands of families, and walk the community for family outreach.
CityTeam provides various opportunities for our congregation to contribute toward their goals, from helping to prepare meals for homeless and recovery program residents at the men’s shelter, to buying housewarming gifts for those transitioning from homelessness to a new apartment, to seasonal programs such as preparing Easter baskets filled with practical items. They also receive donations through our Food for the Hungry weekly collection.
