Welcoming PCLG Ministry Fellows

About a year ago, the Session of PCLG met for an offsite meeting to talk, pray, and vision about the future of our church. One of the main themes that came up in that time was that our church is a place for faith formation for the next generation, and also that we have a calling to equip and develop the future leaders as well.

Out of that vision, we developed a new opportunity this summer called the PCLG Ministry Fellows. The Fellows program is designed as an intentional spiritual and leadership development experience for some college age folks in our church. This is a chance for them to grow deeper in their faith, to learn about leadership within a church context, and to develop their skills for wherever God will lead them. At the same time, this will be a blessing for our church, as we will learn from them and benefit from their energy, ideas and gifts.

Our three Ministry Fellows this summer are MacKenzie Daly, a student at Point Loma Nazarene University, Allie Hilliard, a student at the University of Hawaii, and Cameron Logie, a student at King’s College London.

Each week this summer, the Fellows will meet with one of our church staff members (Pastor Erica, Pastor Dave, Steve Fainer or Carlo Panighetti) for reflection and sharing about a variety of ministry themes.  Some of our topics will include hospitality, listening, lament, vocation and more.  The Fellows will be leading in a variety of ways this summer, in weekly worship, in the Mexico Mission Trip and the Local Mission Week, with children’s ministries, youth, at summer BBQ’s, in visitation, fellowship.

Keep an eye out for Cameron, Allie and Mackenzie this summer and be part of what God is doing in our church through them in the months ahead!
