PARDON OUR GROWING PAINS! THE NEW
WEB SITE IS A WORK IN PROGRESS.

No doubt if you are a frequent visitor to the Presbyterian Church
of Los Gatos web site, you've noticed our whole new look. Cheryl
Sharpley, a freelance web designer who lives in Los Altos and is
an active member at Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church, has just redesigned
our web site.
With the help and cooperation of our Pastor, Rev. Mark Burnham,
Publications Coordinator Shirley Harned-Kelley, and Music Ministries
Director Michael Gibson, the site has been reorganized and reordered,
using our teal-navy-brown spire-among-the-trees logo as color inspiration. The
navigation has been tucked away in a cascading menu system that
fits at the top of each page. Hold
your mouse over each menu item and each will expand both downward
and sometimes sideways to show you more pages available in that
part of the menu. A link to the home
page and
the site map is located on the bottom
of each page, just in case you get lost and need help finding your
way home.*
And some of you may have bookmarked favorite pages from the previous
site. For the time being those pages have been archived and
are still available online. You can see the former
site by going to: http://www.pclg.org/archive/index.html . Other
favorite archived sites may be Shoestring Theatre,
or The Kirkin' o' the Tartans.
Among some features new to the web site are:
A web site is a constantly changing, living directory, guide to,
and record of the life of our church. And while this one
is still being tested and fine-tuned, we hope you will let us know
what works and what doesn't. We all want the site to be clear
and navigable and welcoming to those within and outside our community
of faith.
with questions, comments, concerns.
*Speaking of finding your way, this is 2008, so the site doesn't
say "click here" or "click there" . . . we assume users know that
something underlined is a link to another page or item on a page. Similarly
the images that change color or form when you mouse over them indicate
that clicking on them will take you to a linked page or paragraph. Use
that mouse. Click away. Enjoy. You can't break
anything by exploring!
