Opportunities to Serve

All-Church Mexico Mission Trip

June 20-27, 2020

The whole congregation is invited to join in our June Mexico mission trip in conjunction with Amor Ministries. Amor has been building homes and fostering hope in rural Mexico for over 30 years, and over the year participants from PCLG have completed over 30 homes or other structures. This is a great way to serve the world and strengthen your ties within the PCLG community. If you have general questions, please contact Carlo at mexico@pclg.org.

Summer Mission Week

Opportunities for the whole family to share God’s love through service! We will be serving lunches to the homeless and working poor, working in a community garden, fixing up a house for at-risk youth, sewing blankets for baby layettes … and more!

LifeMoves | Georgia Travis House

the first Tuesday of the month from 5:45-7:00 p.m.

LifeMoves provides stabilization shelter and services for homeless women and children in San Jose.
LifeMoves programs are free of charge and provides far more than temporary shelter.  The programs teach homeless adults the life skills they need to find a rapid and lasting return to stable housing and long-term self-sufficiency. They encourage their homeless families with children to aim for higher education. Last year, 92% of families and 78% of individuals who completed the transitional housing programs returned to stable housing and self-sufficiency.
PCLG members and their families regularly volunteer there
the first Tuesday of the month from 5:45-7:00 p.m. We bring a prepared meal, serve and interact with the residents. If you’d like to participate in meal preparation and/or serving, contact Terrie Creamer or Tim Hornak.

Prayer Shawl MinistryPrayer Shawls

Prayer shawls have been made for centuries and represent the Word of God, embracing those who wear them with comfort and solace. If you like to knit or crochet, this special ministry could use your help, because our supply of shawls is getting low! Patterns and yarn are available in the church office, but you are not restricted to these supplies. If you have a pattern or yarn you prefer, please feel free to use it. Your PCLG Deacons, the group who runs this program, thanks you for your participation!

“Caring Cuisine”

This is a program of the PCLG Deacons to provide meals for those who need some assistance. If you would like to cook a meal for someone in the church, please contact the church office.

Habitat for Humanity Build Days

Carolyn/ Habitat for Humanity

As part of the Los Gatos All-Faiths Community, PCLG members are invited to pick up a hammer or a paintbrush and join in the fun! If you would like to help with the building or rehabbing of homes for folks in need in Silicon Valley, join us on our next build day. No experience necessary but workers must be 16 or older.

Sacred Heart Community Service

SacredHeartSacred Heart provides essential services, empowers people to improve their lives, advocates for justice, and inspires volunteers to love, serve, and share. PCLG members regularly volunteer there the first Monday of the month from noon to 3:00 p.m. We sort, hang and organize donated clothes or sort, bag and distribute food supplies. You are invited to join us for all or part of that time.
