The Rev. Dr. David G. Watermulder, Pastor

A note from Pastor Dave

Hi everybody.

This past Sunday we heard this basic, but important truth: not all invitations that you receive are good for you. After sharing about a scam email that I received, many of you reached out with stories of your own. A reminder that I will never ask you to send me gift cards!

The invitation that Jesus gives us is different from how the world operates. The world will ask you to work harder, prove yourself, show your best side at all times. Jesus says, “come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”.

The world may say, “you’d look cool if you jumped off this bridge into the river”. If you missed my sermon, you can hear the story here: Sermon.

But Jesus doesn’t need us to look cool, to overwork or to figure everything out on our own. Jesus gives us this gracious invitation, “come and see”. Come and see what following him is like. Come and see how forgiveness and redemption works. Come and see why a life-giving relationship with Christ fills you up and gives more meaning to your life.

I look forward to seeing you this week as we continue to walk the road of faith together!

Here is an invitation for you to consider, we are holding a Donut Hole Blind Taste Test on Sunday morning! Join us, starting at 9:30am in front of the Sanctuary to help determine which of the 6 top Donut Shops in the area is best! Cast your vote, bring a friend, don’t be late!

Read below for more information about what is coming up these days around PCLG. It’s only Wednesday, but I’m already looking forward to being with you all on Sunday!

peace,
pastor dave
